For some stupid fucking reason, the MPPT charge controller that is several years old, that has a display, is able to show me a rough battery percentage, but that data will not be transmitted to the M1 unless you have renogy branded batteries. IT DOES NOT SHOW BATTERY PERCENTAGE UNLESS YOU HAVE A RENOGY BRANDED BATTERY. This is what I was expecting to show on the display of the M1 battery percentage, but NOPE. Yes, it is nice/also shows the solar generated/watts/amps going into the battery, and the load status, but THE PRIMARY PART OF THE DISPLAY is battery percentage. This is ultimately, the info anybody wants to know at a glance. Look, the PRIMARY DISPLAY of the controller itself, dead center, shows ESTIMATED BATTERY PERCENT, in big fucking numbers. ?!ĭISPLAY: So now it's connected, it downloaded several updates, rebooted, and then I could 'add device', so I did. This honestly really pissed me off that they did not offer a wifi module, how hard can this be to simply transmit the same data the BT controller uses, into a protocol that works with the internet?
